Anonymity and confidentiality are also notions that people often mix. Keeping a participant in your study completely anonymous means that there is no personal data (PII) about them. As we usually perform screeners to qualify participants in our studies, we know their names, email addresses, etc. Instead, we usually treat their participation confidentially. We do not link a participant`s name or other personally identifiable information to their data (for example. B notes, surveys, videos), unless the participant gives such consent in writing. Instead, we use a participant ID (e.g.B. P1, Participant 1). It is important to protect a participant`s privacy, so if you are unable to guarantee anonymity, you should at least keep their participation confidential. In every sense of the word, a treaty. In the Bible (see also the Bible), an agreement between God and His people, in which God makes promises to His people and usually requires them to behave in a particular way.
In the Old Testament, God made agreements with Noah, Abraham, and Moses. He promised Noah that he would never again destroy the Earth by a flood. He promised Abraham to become the ancestor of a great nation, provided that Abraham went to the place that God had shown him and sealed the covenant by circumcision of all the men of the nation. God told Moses that the Israelites would reach the Promised Land, but that they had to obey the Mosaic law. In the New Testament, God promised salvation to those who believe in Jesus (see also redemption). David Chaum is named godfather of anonymity and he claims to be one of the great visionaries of contemporary science. In the early 1980s, while he was a computer scientist at Berkeley, Chaum predicted the world where computer networks would enable mass surveillance. Dr Joss Wright explains: “David Chaum was well ahead of his time. He predicted in the early 1980s concerns that would arise on the Internet 15 or 20 years later. “[20] However, some people see anonymity on the Internet as a threat to our society as a whole.
David Davenport, an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science at Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey, believes that allowing anonymous communication on the network jeopardizes the structure of our society. [21] “Accountability requires that those responsible for any misconduct be identified and brought to justice. But if people remain anonymous by definition, they cannot be identified, making it impossible to hold them to account,” he says. Anonymity is not directly related to the concept of obscurantism or pseudonymity in which an artist or group tries to remain anonymous, for various reasons: the addition of an element of mysticism to himself or his work, the attempt to avoid what is called the “cult of personality” or heroic veneration, where charisma, good, wealth or other unrelated or slightly related aspects of the person(s) are the main reason for interest in their work and not in the work itself; also the ability to penetrate a field or area of interest usually dominated by men, such as James Tiptree, Jr., the famous science fiction author, who was actually a woman named Alice Bradley Sheldon, as seems to be the case with JT LeRoy. If a group or decision is unanimous, it means that everyone is in complete agreement. Imagine having CE2 students vote on what to serve for lunch: pizzas and sweets would be the unanimous choice! The history of anonymous expression in political dissent is both long and with an important effect, as in the letters of Junius or Voltaire Candide, or bizarre as in the pasquinades. In the tradition of anonymous British political critics, the Federalist Papers were written anonymously by three of America`s founding fathers. Without the public discourse on the controversial content of the U.S. Constitution, ratification would likely have taken much longer, given that individuals would have worked on the issues.
