In recent decades, when boards have needed timely permissions for certain issues, they have had to chase the entire board, provide scanned copies of signature pages, and have them sign and return the pages within a set amount of time. In the best case, this process was only effective if managers were in a location where they could access a printer and scanner. Boards of Directors may also approve approval decisions unanimously during Bureau meetings to expedite the meeting and determine additional time to deal with more important issues. Unanimous approval is often used to speed up the procedure by making formal votes superfluous. .
